I have been working in the semiconductor industry for over twenty years. I started my career as an electrical engineer but found I had a knack and passion for software.
I spent the first half of my career at Unisys and Brooktree Corporation in San Diego creating productivity tools for engineers. At the same time I moonlighted with some friends and developed and released a number of desktop products on both the PC and Mac.
During the early days of the Internet, our team built many websites around town. I also co-wrote “1001 Java Programmer’s Tips” with two of my colleagues. In 1997 we decided to take the leap and we founded Syntricity. We merged our semiconductor and internet experience and developed the first Web-based data analysis software for semiconductor engineers. After over ten years we are still at it. We host the software over the internet as well as sell an enterprise version.
On a personal level, I am very lucky to be married to my best friend and we have two beautiful boys. I became an avid runner in 2004 and have run three marathons since then. No matter how good life is, it can be a rollercoaster and I’m sure my ups and downs will come out in my personal blog entries.
